LA CANTINA DI MOE & RUT E LE ETICHETTE DI YSAAHI

Una rassegna delle bottiglie commercializzate da Moe e Rut, i cadetti che hanno riportato alla luce la distilleria fantasma, e le quattro etichette create da Ysaahi (Acqua di Altair, Dresci, Syntheol e Yalasat).



ACQUA DI ALTAIR

L'Acqua di Altair è una bevanda esportata dal sistema Altair e servita su diversi pianeti come la Terra.

Spock was known to drink Altair water. In 2285, Leonard McCoy, who was under the influence of Spock's katra, ordered a glass of Altair water at a bar he frequented on Earth. (Star Trek III)

L'etichetta proposta da Ysaahi punta sull'ovvio richiamo dell'immagine: d'altronde l'Acqua di Altair è un prodotto così noto da non aver bisogno di presentazioni.


BRANDY ALVANIANO

Il Brandy Alvaniano è una bevanda alcolica tipicamente confezionata in bottiglie a forma di piramide.

Sometime prior to stardate 49930.3, Doctor Julian Bashir of Deep Space 9 received a case of Alvanian brandy as payment from a patient. Bashir donated the case to Quark after the Ferengi barkeep's business license was revoked by the Ferengi Commerce Authority and his bar stripped of its contents. Bashir insisted that the brandy wasn't charity, as he found the stuff "undrinkable". (DS9: "Body Parts")



CHECH'TLUTH

Il Chech'Tluth è una bevanda klingon terribilmente alcolica che sembra fumare.

Worf served a cup of chech'tluth to the Bringloidi leader Danilo Odell in 2365, after O'Dell found replicated whiskey to be lacking. Upon sipping the beverage he complimented it by stating, "now that's what I call a wee drop of the creature." (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")
Worf tells the replicator "joq tlutlh" when he requested the drink, which literally means "bold drink", as defined by the thlIngan Hol translation from Marc Okrand's "The Klingon Dictionary".



DRESCI

Il Dresci è una bevanda alcolica del pianeta Pentarus V, un pianeta della Federazione che nel 2367 chiede a Picard di mediare una disputa con i minatori di selenide).

In 2367, when Captain Dirgo was stranded on Pentarus III with Captain Picard and Ensign Crusher, he hid a bottle of dresci on his person following the crash of his shuttle, the Nenebek. When Captain Picard found it, he argued that it would dehydrate him, and could better serve for medicinal purposes. (TNG: "Final Mission")

Non si conosce molto delle tradizioni di Pentarus V così Ysaahi lavora di fantasia, proponendo una etichetta ottenuta con la tecnica del collage riassemblando alcune lettere ritagliate da una delle sue riviste di moda preferite.




SHERRY CALAMANO

Lo Sherry Calamano è una bevanda servita nel bar di prora, bevanda preferita del tenente D'Sora.

Data ordered a Calaman sherry while on his final "date" with Jenna D'Sora. (TNG: "In Theory")



SYNTHEOL

Il Syntheol è una variante chimica dell'alcol; sembra che abbia lo stesso sapore e profumo del vero alcol ma nessuno degli effetti deleteri associati all'alcol per molti umanoidi.

It is a regular ingredient in the drinks served on Starfleet vessels and Starbases, but some bartenders like Guinan and Quark keep a supply of alcoholic beverages for customers requesting such. (TNG: "Relics"; DS9, various)

Più che una bevanda, il Syntheol è un componente che viene aggiunto a diverse misture per simulare il gusto del vero alcol. Viene tipicamente confezionato in contenitori per la grande distribuzione, latte o bottiglie di grandi dimensioni, non fatte per comparire direttamente sulla tavola o sugli scaffali.

L'etichetta proposta da Ysaahi rispecchia questa necessità industriale: riporta il nome di scadenza in più lingue, a seconda del mercato di esportazione, la data di scadenza e le caratteristiche di purezza del prodotto.


    
VINO GAMZIANO

Il Vino Gamziano è una bevanda intossicante. E' uno dei drink serviti nel bar di Qaurk su Deep Space Nine. Sembra ci siano diverse varietà di vino gamziano, come per il vino terrestre: sembra verde in "Q-Less", arancione opaco in "The Storyteller" e rosso chiaro in "Rivals".

Quark shared a bottle of Gamzian wine with Vash while discussing an auction they were planning in 2369. (DS9: "Q-Less") Later the same year, Commander Benjamin Sisko ordered a glass of the wine during negotiations between the Paqu and the Navot. (DS9: "The Storyteller")

WARNOG

Il Warnog è una tradizionale birra klingon di colore chiaro.

The clone of Emperor Kahless was exposed because he could not determine the difference between real warnog, and that from a replicator. General Martok often enjoyed warnog aboard the IKS Rotarran. (TNG: "Rightful Heir"; DS9: "Sons and Daughters")



YALASAT

Lo Yalasat è un vino thorotano. L'ingrediente principale è un cactus che cresce nelle colline settentrionali del pianeta.

Captain Jonathan Archer and Commander Tucker were served this wine when visiting Zobral's encampment on his planet in 2152 (ENT: "Desert Crossing")

Il vino thorotano è originiario di un pianeta prevalentemente desertico, dove i laghi e i corsi d'acqua coprono una percentuale minima della superficie. Dalle popolazioni locali viene conservato in otri di materiale simile alla terracotta, semplici e poco decorati, che ci si propone di replicare anche per la produzione su larga scala.

L'etichetta proposta da Ysaahi si attiene a questa tradizione: si tratta di un'etichetta semplice, su carta rustica e opaca, dai bordi non ben delineati, scritta a mano con un carattere che simula la calligrafia.
